In terms of the human portion of the war, the Peloponnesian War was a protracted conflict in ancient Greece fought between Athens and Sparta, the two most powerful city-states, from 431 to 404 BCE, lasting for 27 years. It pitted Athens and its empire, known as the Delian League, against the Peloponnesian League, led by Sparta. This war significantly shifted power in the region, ultimately leading to Sparta’s dominance and along with signaling the end of Athens’s Golden Age.

As for the Second Virehnai War, fighting broke out between the humans in Sparta and Athens. There were Draz’kul and Sulehnei in both cities. They tried successfully for some time to stay out of it, remembering the causes of the war in Sumeria. Unfortunately, there were too many Virehnai in both cities; more than was considered ‘safe,’ and many of them were recently turned, so there were many ‘new’ Virehnai.

Unfortunately, when someone becomes a Virehn, it doesn’t change their beliefs, or their allegiances to families or causes. As Athens began losing, the Virehnai living in Athens defended them. The Virehnai living in Sparta fought back in kind, and they found themselves at war again.
